Today, members of EQR's Sustainability Circle went to the Alice Ferguson Foundation to tour their Living Building (1 of 13 in the world)! located in Accokeek, MD, the recently certified "Grass" educational building is just beautiful. This building faces a south facing field where its solar paneled roof captures the sun’s energy. A network of 20 geothermal wells, located in the grassy field in front of the building, helps ensure that the Earth's power is used efficiently.

As part of EQR's own sustainability initiatives, seeing this living building was an inspiration for what we hope to achieve in the future. To learn more about our sustainability circle, check out our related post!
